The Rebbe against a map of France, worked in gold. Across the country run the words of the Baal Shem Tov, when your wellsprings spread outward.

The Rebbe knew France well. As a young man he lived in Paris for years, studying engineering, and when the war came he fled south through Nice and Marseille before escaping to America. Decades later, on Simchas Torah 1973, he taught his chassidim to sing the holy words Ha’aderet veha’emunah to the tune of the Marseillaise, turning the anthem of France into a chassidic song. France answered. Today it holds one of the largest Torah communities in the world. This canvas carries that story, city by city, in gold.

Original oil, signed by the artist. No editions, no reproductions. Insured delivery worldwide.
